Desktop retro photography city calendar 2013

I must admit that since I received my i phone last spring I have been a bit mad about iphonography. I love all the apps that I can install and play with. I have been travelling quite a lot in the last few years both privately and professionally so I thought it would be ideal to use my travel photos for a 2013 calendar. I decided to import some of my travel photos to my i phone to play with using some of my apps. It was easy to import the photos to my i phone by using Dropbox. I then played with the photos using different apps like Filter Mania, PictureShow and Pixlomatic+. When I finished the i phone editing process  I added some text with quotes in Photoshop.

A trip to the forest

I went hiking over the weekend in a beautiful forest called Stalpastadaskogur, we went looking for mushrooms and berries, I saw these beautiful mushrooms in the forest, unfortunately they are not eatable I was told but they were beautiful to photograph ;)... I have been taking part in  the monthly mosaic group on Flickr, the Colour theme for August is Pale Green so I thought my forest theme would be ideal for that :)...

On a beautiful sommer evening

During an summer evening walk recently I found this beautiful white poppie, so a took a little rest to take this photograph. After cropping the photo a bit in Photoshop I added an Olga Adelina Effect in Pixlr express and then I added a Polaroid Frame from Fuzzimo.com, finally I added a scanned washi tape from my own collection + a drop shadow in Photoshop.

Recent shots from my Iphone

I have have been taken a lot of Iphone shots recently using Instagram, I added frames to some of the photos above in using my new favorite online photo editing programs Pixlr Express, it offers endless editing possibilities :), then I made the collage in Photoshop adding drop shadow as Layer style effect.

Trip to the countryside

Last weekend the weather was so sunny and beautiful, I took a trip to the beautiful countryside at Hvalfjörður about 60km from Reykjavík, with my husband where these photos were taken. I have been taking part in the the monthly mosaic Flickr group, the May Mosaic color was bright green as there is a lot of green to be seen at the countryside I thought these photos were ideal for that ;).... I made the mosaic in Photoshop, I know there are some online programs to make mosaic of photos but I always love how easily I can crop each and everyone of my mosaic photos in Photoshop.

Colorful Burano

I will never forget how excited I was to photograph when I got the chance to visit the island Burano, I was visiting Venice and in a bookstore there I saw this beautiful book with photos from Burano so even though my time was limited I jumped on the next ferry to Burano, it was such a lovely, quiet and colorful village, I ran about for an hour or so until I had to take the ferry back taking photos of the most colorful village I had visitied. I made this mosaic in Photoshop for the Kim Klassens Beyond Layers class, during Colour Week.

Testing my new wellies

There dosen´t seem to be any spring in the air yet, we have mostly had either snowstorm or rain here in Reykjavík lately. I took a walk to the seaside Yesterday in my new wellies as they are pink I took a pink flower with to photograph ;)... The post processing was done in ToyCamera AnalogColor, my favorite toycamera program :)..

The monthly mosaic

I recently joined the montly mosaic group on Flickr, each month a new colour is posted with a theme to represent that color. The group admin is Chelle, she has a lovely blog magnetised by life. This months colour and theme is pale blue and courage & spiritual awareness. This weekend I visited to the Blue Lagoon with my husband and all the water theme pictures above were taken there ;).... it´s a beautiful place to relax... I made the mosaic in Photoshop.

Flamenco show in Barcelona

I went to a meeting last week to beautiful Barcelona as I was working I did not have much spare time for taking photos, I had a chance to go flamenco show one night, it was not allowed to use flash when taking photos but it was a lot of fun shooting these above by using high ISO.

 I am taking a class by Kim Klassen called Beyond Layers, we have been learning how to make storyboards so this collage was made by a template that Kim shared with us in the class...

Memories from a trip to Paris

I went on a holiday to Paris last spring and made this collage from my some of the photos that I took, we stayed in the beautiful Marais district, everyday I passed by a beautiful rose flower shop close to the apartment that we had rented for our stay, the roses where one of the most beautiful roses I had seen and I must admit I had to photograph them everyday. I played a bit with orton effect on the photos and also added some effects in pixlr-o-matic then I made the collage in Photoshop. 

My Pink Macro Polaroids

I love Polaroids but unfortunately I don´t have a Polaroid camera, I might though try to buy one some day at Ebay, Amazon or somewhere, my only concern would be, will it function properly or not!! They seem to have very nice Polaroid films at the impossible project. I also love to take macro flower photos with my macro lens. I thought I should mix these ideas so I made some fake Macro Polaroids in Photoshop. I took the frame from Poladroid, that is a kind of digital Polaroid camera that you can download on your desktop. I wanted a softer look for my photos so I added an Orton Effect in Photoshop, here is a link to an Orton Effect Tutorial.
